You have made an investment in a flat screen television. Now it is time to protect that investment from accidents. The design of the flat screen makes it easy for them to tip over and break. If you have children or pets you want to make sure you have the television mounted with a TV bracket. A TV bracket ensures the television can not be knocked over. While it will not be protected from objects that might fly at it, you may at least feel secure the TV bracket is protecting your investment as much as possible.
You have two major selections when it comes to TV brackets. Among these two selections are a potpourri of styles for brackets. We will thoroughly and closely question or examine TV floor stands and wall mounts to help you determine which option might be best for you and your family. Let’s begin with the TV floor stands.
TV floor stands will place the television at eye level for your amusement room. With the floor stands you have TV brackets which will attach the TV to the stand to make sure it will not fall over. It is also going to give you a place to store your television constituents like surround sound, DVD player, game console, etc. Depending on the TV floor stand you may also have room for DVDs and game storage. The TV brackets employed in a TV stand might be fixed based on space in the stand. It might be possible to use a flat mount, cantilever or motorised bracket. A flat mount is stationary, where as the cantilever mount has arms which may extend the television out of the stand permitting it to swivel and tilt as needed. A motorised bracket also allows for motion of the television to get the best possible position.
The downside to TV stands is the space they take up on the floor. If you desire your floor space you may not want the television stand to be in the way. Unfortunately, depending on where you live you may not have a choice regarding the floor stand. Flats may make it totally unlikely for you to use wall mounts if you let a property.
Wall mounts include flat mounts, swivel mounts, tilting mounts, cantilever mounts, and motorised brackets. These five TV bracket selections make it possible for you to choose VESA mounting that best suits your pocket book and your home. The mounts are reasonably self explanatory in what they do, but we will offer a bit of selective information on each.
Flat mounts are the simplest permitting you to place the television on the wall without any motion of the TV. Once it is set on the wall it is at a specific angle. If you want more flexibleness with the wall mount you have swivel or tilting mounts. These two designs concede you to modify the television’s position when required. For example, you might want the TV to swivel towards your dining area and back into the living room after a meal. It is possible with the swivel mount that has a little arm in the back. The degree of swivel is based on the size of the television and the arm the TV bracket comes with.
Tilting mounts in general work to tilt the TV up or down based on where you have it positioned. A good example of how to use this TV bracket is if you have a fireplace. The fireplace may be the centre of your amusement room leaving the only place for the TV above the mantel. With a tilting mount you may position the TV so that you have the best angle. Since a regular flat mount can not tilt you would unquestionably want something that allows you to place the TV at a downward angle in this situation.
Any of the TV brackets you determine you want are going to be VESA mounting. VESA is a video association which provides electronic standards for TV brackets. VESA mounting has a four screw style set up for the little televisions, as well as cable exits to help you attach the necessary elements to your TV. Larger VESA mounts will have more screws to help hold the heavier TV to the wall without fear of damage. There are also VESA mounts for huge TVs placed in floor stands. Depending on your home set up you may determine TV brackets for the wall mount is better than a floor stand. Keep in mind the TV bracket is your choice based on durability and quality.

60 Inch Regal TV Stand with Mount By Ryan J. Pinney After spending hours looking at options for a TV stand or wall mount, I came to the decision to get a TV stand with a mount built in (because I live in an apartment). This is without a doubt the best choice in this category. It took me no more than 2 hours from the time I opened it until it was put together. The directions are pretty straightforward, even though I messed up a couple of times and had to backtrack. You can probably reduce the time it takes to build this by 50% if you have another person helping. Also, I HIGHLY recommend the 60″ version over the 42″ one. It is definitely worth the extra money. My 50″ flat screen goes perfect with this stand.
Here are the pros:
- The parts were very well packed - Looks sturdy, quality material. This should last me my entire lifetime… - Simple, easy to follow directions. Everything is labeled. - A plethora of screws/bolts for TV mounting options (your TV is almost sure to have the correct mounting screws included) - The mount is the best mount I’ve ever used. The mount is made to be very easily adjustable. It tilts vertically, as well as horizontally. It will not, however, slide side-to-side (horizontally) or up and down (vertically), but the tilting options are more than enough. - BEAUTIFUL STAND - Plenty of space
Cons - I’ve noticed dust collecting on the glass after a few days. I have a micro fiber cloth nearby now, and I’ll probably have to make it a task to wipe it down real quick once a week. Not really much of a con though. - It may take a little trial and error to get your TV on the stand at the desired height. You can eliminate the trial and error by doing some simple measuring/guesstimation though. - Fingerprints might be a problem for people with kids. - Might need extra washers. They gave me the exact number of washers that I needed, and I almost lost one when I dropped it.
Other things Make sure you have plenty of space to put it together, and set aside a couple of hours to put it together. I have the TV the highest it will go (without allowing the mount to be visible) and there is about 7-8 inches from the top layer of glass to the bottom of my TV. This allows space for a quality center channel speaker to be placed directly under the TV. Lastly, if you’re looking for a home theater system to go with this stand check out EMP Tek. Their Impression series speakers (in red burl color) match this stand perfectly; They will blow any mainstream brand speakers out of the water, too.
I can’t really say enough about this stand. I have gotten comments on it from every last person that’s seen it. I’m very happy with my purchase.

Great TV Stand By K. Dopheide Purchased this 42″ stand a few weeks ago. Was easy to assemble, Looks Great, Sturdy. I mounted my 50″ Plasma on it, it extends beyond the stand a few inches on each side, but looks like they were made for each other. A great addition to my living room. The only suggestion I would have is maybe a couple of small rings welded on the inside of the rec. tubes of the cable management system so you could “zip tie” the cables so they would stay inside. Other than that minor thing, I would recommend this product to anyone. It’s funny, I was in Walmart the other day, noticed a couple looking at a TV stand that was similar but much inferior in it’s design. I suggested they look on Amazon for this one, lower cost, much heavier designed, even heavier glass shelving. They thanked me very much and walked away. I think people need a good deal once in a while, and I do this every chance I get. Like I said, this is a great product, and I don’t think you can find a better quality TV stand for the money. I would not hesitate to use this stand for up to a 54″ or possibly a 60″ TV. Depends on the space you have, the larger 60″ version may work better for a larger TV if you have the room for it, my space was somewhat limited and the 42″ version worked quite well.

Functional and beautiful By Vettowner This stand fits my needs to a tee and is flexible enough so I can make a change in the future if I should need to do so. It arrived very quickly and in excellent condition. It is very heavy and I did need another person to help me carry it into the house. It comes with a multitude of parts but it is easy to understand how to assemble the unit. I supervised my 11 year old grandson and watched him assemble it in about an hour. (my supervision consisted of making sure all the nuts and bolts were tight and to double check the pieces were assembled in the correct order, other than that things went very well) There were no parts shortages, in fact we had a few bolts left over in most cases. I chose to have the unit with the TV attached rather than mounting the TV to the wall or using the stand that came with the TV set. It has many adjustments so you can move the TV to different positions on the stand to suit the place you set it up in your room. It looks beautiful and it is very sturdy and functional. I mounted a 46″ TV without any trouble. The wires run up the back of the unit out of sight making for a clean uncluttered look in the room. The glass is very heavy and very dark and needs to be dusted on a regular basis but you would expect to do that anyway I would think. I am very pleased with the unit and the price at Amazon which included free shipping was outstanding. I would certainly recommend it to my friends and many of them have remarked on how nice the unit looks after they have seen it in person.
